Ksheeradhara - Cooling Head Therapy
Ksheera is milk and Dhara is a stream. Ksheeradhara is a cooling and rejuvenating head therapy that involves continuously moving a stream of organic, unhomogonised milk infused with cooling herbs such as Brahmi and Usheera on the forehead and scalp to cool the mind. It is a therapy for the head, similar to Shirodhara, except that it is given using medicated milk instead of medicated oil.
It is extremely useful in high pitta cases where it is essential to reduce the excess heat in the body and the mind. It gives a cooling effect for both head and body and is also very nourishing. It is useful for people with mental stress and higher blood pressure.
